Firstly let me say a big thanks to all of you who emailed me or commented on my post about my little bird which I was surprised to find on a card in kikki.K. I appreciate your concern and support, so thank you!
So... here's what happened... A couple of days after that post Kristina Karlsson, founder and owner of kikki.K, contacted me after a friend of hers alerted her to my blog post. A long story short, Kristina was very apologetic, open and willing to do the right thing by me as soon as she possibly could. She has been nothing short of wonderful and has compensated me for the use of my design.
I imagine (hope) that the designer responsible has learnt a valuable lesson.

20 lovely people commented... have your say here:
oh that is great news Lisa.
and thanks for the update (i had been skirting around kikki k lately so it is nice to know)
Wow! that's wonderful news :) I'm glad Kikki K was reasonable and willing to correct the problem. I've always loved Kikki K and I love your work, so it's good that they have done the right thing for you.
What a wonderful ending...wow, I hope the other designer has learned their lesson indeed.
I'm so glad that it all got solved! Thanks for the update, Lisa! :)
What a great resolution. It's not often that a "big" chain will do the right thing by an individual designer. Congratulations on a good outcome.
Looking forward to seeing your beautiful wares on Saturday at Allie's Attic.
Thats great news Lisa. It's good to see that there are still some honourable people out there x
It's good that she took responsibility and is willing to do the right thing. What surprises me is why she allowed it to happen in the first place?
Hooray for happy endings! I'm impressed that Kristina Karlsson contacted you first. These things happen - you can't be glaring over the shoulder of each individual designer to keep tabs on them - but it's how the issue is resolved (or not) that shows the integrity of the company.
I hope they know who this particular designer is, so they can be dealt with. Wow, if anyone did that at my work, they'd be ripped to shreds!
Right, now that I feel better about Kikki K I can go and buy some pieces from their felt range that I've been eyeing off for oh so long!! ;)
(And hey, you don't get away with much once it ends up posted on someone's blog, do you? News travels fast!)
That is an incredible outcome and is a feather in the company's cap that it could be so honest and open about any breach of your copyright.
Hi Thea, Kristina would trust that her designers create original work - she wouldn't have any way of knowing otherwise.
Kate, I absolutely agree. Kristina dealt with the situation in a truly admirable way. I doubt many other companies would have been so honest and willing to resolve things to my satisfaction.
Thanks for letting us know the outcome!
Yay, a win for the small guys! How wonderful that Kristina contacted you herself and has been so forthcoming about righting a wrong. I have the utmost respect for her. Maybe she'll want to take you on board as one of her designers??
How fantastic that Kristina contacted and compensated you. A great result!
Great news Lisa...
Oh, I didn't realise that it was another designer involved. It would be impossible to keep tabs on their work. I think you did the best thing by putting it out into the blog world!
Fabulous news!! I'm a very big Kikki.K fan and even more so now. Yay!
I'm so pleased, for all concerned, an amicable agreement has been met. Afterall, I'm rather fond of your lovely creations and the Swedish goodness of Kikki-K. Ingrid x
This is so heartening to see Lisa. For another look at plagiarism, I'd love you to take a look at my blog today, and let me know what you think? Esepcially knowing your love of Orla Kiely.
