Ponyo

I took Roxy and her best friend to see Ponyo last weekend and it was an absolute delight. I loved Studio Ghibli's animation style which wasn't super slick and hyper-real like most these days. The story - based on Hans Cristian Andersen's The Little Mermaid - was sweet and beautiful, as was the soundtrack. And Ponyo, a little goldfish, was soooo cute!



I absolutely loved Ponyo and the five and a half year old girls really enjoyed it, although it was just a touch too long for them. I'd highly recommend it, it was fun and wonderful and such a welcome relief from all that princess stuff!
