New Japanese Goodness GIVEAWAY

05 June 2009

Here is your second chance to win some of the lovely goodies I bought on my recent Tokyo trip. I'm giving away lots of little bits and pieces much like the previous giveaway, but with a few extra surprises thrown in. Expect some washi paper tape, letter paper, envelopes, origami paper, the sweetest printed paper bags, little note cards, note paper, tiny cute sticky notes, sticky tape with cute animals on it, some Kokka fabric with little bugs and apples, a length of fabric tape with animals on it, a mushroom clip, and a little 'joyful' animal container.

To enter just leave a comment on this post about your favourite city. My faves are Tokyo (obviously) and New York. And of course I love living in beautiful Sydney.

I'll choose a winner at random on Friday next week.

Have a fab weekend doing whatever you do. Be safe and happy and I'll see you on Tuesday... it's a long weekend, yay!
x
Lisa

World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day.

Spurred on by a comp run by their employer, lovely bloggers Kate (on the left) and Ebony, both committed to make changes in their lives to cut carbon emissions. They are both now in the 10 finalists and are in the running to win a Toyota Prius. Nice!

Kate has been wearing only clothes thrifted from op-shops for the duration of the competition. She says: The News Limited 1degree op shop challenge is to wear second-hand and op shop purchased clothing and accessories to save money, cut textile waste and reduce the consumption of carbon-emitting fashion product. You can read Kate's effort and see photos on her blog Katiecrackernuts.

Ebony of Hello Sandwich decided to do an eco-make over of her office and accomplished this with the help of Al Gore ambassador Liane Rossler. Ebony implemented inniatives like starting a communal garden, making the staff kitchen 'green' and negotiating a discount at the local coffee shop for staff members who BYO'd their mug. You can read more about what Ebony did here on Hello Sandwich and also on her new blog One Degree of Difference.

As part of Ebony's pledge she is inviting women to become a part of 1 Million Women Cutting Carbon Action.
Ebony says: 1 Million Women - daughters, mothers, sisters and grandmothers inspiring climate action. Our goal is to collectively cut 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2), the main greenhouse gas pollutant triggering climate change. Every woman who joins has a personal goal to cut 1 tonne of CO2 from their daily lives within a year of joining. You don't need to be an expert on climate change, we will guide you every step of the way.

I just signed up to be one of the 1 million women... go on, do it too!

There's a lot of info and links - and a giveaway - on Ebony's blogs here and here, so do check them out.

Congrats to Ebony and Kate for not only being in the finalists, but for making a difference. Yay for you both!
